Our initial 2 Statement organisations sust campaign_agreed:

We, as organisations committed in the organisation of international voluntary service projects, have the will to contribute in the transformation of our communities, in the local level, and, through networking, in the international level, for the construction of a fairer world, more sustainable, more healthy and with better resources that impulse integral development of people, the communities and peoples, and their happiness and solidarity.

This is, in a general scope, the main aim, the mission that all organisations have to be working in voluntary service.

That’s why we consider that we have to assume as a goal the development of working methodologies that strengthen the achievement of that mission, and that our action is not just working for this transformation only through its final product but as well through our daily action and effects.

In the case of workcamps, or voluntary service camps, we think that it is in our hands betting for sustainability, fair trade, for a more human and sustainable ways of consume, exchange and life.

As organisations that make projects of local development, solidarity, we have to assume as well that our action leaves an ecological print and that we have to try to make it so that this print is a positive one. And as well, that we act as educators of participants that come to our country, being able to influence this way in the international level, to a more healthy and sustainable habits and perspectives.

Sometimes it is us, as social, educative organisations that we are, who have to make the first steps to learn, experiment and communicate, so that society can understand that a different range of habbits are necessary and possible.

It is therefore in our hands to be, not only organisers of sustainable voluntary service projects, but as well to be refferents for other sectors of society that may not assume iniciatially the social goals of the voluntary service organisations.

And we think that this is our responsability as organisations that work for missions like ours: a fairer world with people happier, able and solidary.

That’s why we launch this campaign, and we invite a diversity of organisations and local hosts to participate in it and to support it.
